Bridgebuilder Cinematic Arts Program
"Building a bridge to a career in the arts"
Meet the Bridgebuilders
Our founder, Hollis Meminger, is an award winning filmmaker with credits on shows such as Sopranos, Younger, Tom Swift, Gossip Girl, and countless movies commercials and music videos. He is also involved in many restorative justice projects and community involvement. Once a Bridgebuilder always a Bridgebuilder is a phrase we use in the organization because our students go through a rigorous 2-4 week program and upon graduating from high school, they become mentors while in college until entry into the film industry.
Bridgebuilder Cinematic Arts Program (BCAP) is a nonprofit founded in 2016 to introduce young women and men of color to careers in film and television.
With locations in New York City, Baltimore, St. Louis, Dorchester Mass., and Montgomery Alabama, BCAP has managed to secure itself as a fully immersive summer program that teaches both hard and soft skills while providing a holistic approach to individual development. We are using real work experiences to create jobs for our youth through mentorship and active particiapation. Our projects include work for the Vera Institute, United Way of Central Maryland, Panasonic North America, the Clinton and Bush Intitutes, City Living, and currently CapEQ, and Common App. While working on such high level projects, our students get a glimpse into how to work on a production starting with planning, pre-production, filming, and post production and music scoring. Having these skills taught to your student by our team of experts with over 100 years of work experience, creates an invaluable experience that nurtures their creativity as well as their understanding of the film and tv industry.
